The Crib has arrived!

Our crib has been on backorder and that made me nervous.  Even though we have a bassinet for him to sleep in the first couple of months, I still feel the need to have everything in there and put together before he comes.  We got it all put together Thursday night.  It turned out better than I expected.  We ordered it online without seeing it in person.  We don't have a mattress for it yet but that's okay.  I still like it.  I decided to put the toys in it for now so someone, eh hem, can't get to them.  Apparently that doesn't work because someone just brought me Larry the Cucumber.  How did he do that?  Anyway, here are some more photos of the progress.  The room is slowly coming together.  I cannot wait until I have my shower in June and then we will really get things put together.

Camping Trip

Steve and I decided to have a little getaway before the baby comes. We took the travel trailer to Fort Wilderness for a mid-week vacation. I ended up having to work Wednesday night and Thursday but that's okay since we were only camping 15 minutes away from my job.  Steve and his family used to stay at Fort Wilderness most years at Christmas when he was growing up.  It was fun for him to share this piece of his childhood with me.  I know it meant a lot to him and it was really fun for him too. Elwood had a blast too.  He loves camping but boy does it wear him out.  I think he has been sleeping since we returned on Thursday!

  He even drags all his toys under there to keep them all safe.

The Fort has recently added a dog park so the doggies can run around and play together. 

 We spent a lot of time in there making new friends.

Elwood had plenty of space to roam around and explore.  That was a pretty big hill he kept

 running up and down.  We don't have many of those here in Florida so that was new for him.

I think someone thoroughly enjoyed his time at the park.

Elwood also had his first golf cart ride on this trip.  He was so funny sitting on the floor, trying not to fall out.  I couldn't resist the photo!

We hope the baby enjoys camping half as much as Elwood.  We hope to have many fond memories as a family like Steve has with his.

Bunnies!

So last week, Elwood found some bunnies in the back yard. At first I thought they were mice but upon closer inspection, they are bunnies (thank God).  I did some research online and learned that bunnies typically nest in wide open areas like lawns and typically get dug up by dogs and cats.  Even though the mommy wasn't around apparently they come back at night to feed them.  We moved them under Steve's old tractor so  that Elwood or birds couldn't get to them.  Elwood was so cute.  He kept sitting by the back door crying because he wanted to go out and check on his babies. He would run out right away and pick them up in his mouth.  He was being a little mommy.  Here are some photos I took of them.

There they are!

There are three of them. Look how little and cute they are all snuggled together.

I just couldn't resist.  Their eyes were still closed.  They couldn't see where they were going but they kept crawling away from their nest.  I picked them up and put them back.  The internet says it was okay.

Unfortunately the bunnies are gone.  We left for a camping trip on Monday and when we got back on Thursday they had flown the coupe.  I hope that they are okay and growing quickly.  Maybe they will come back and visit soon.  Elwood might chase them away though.  That's what he did to their mommy.  Oh well, we'll see what happens.
